A watched Freight Truck Never Comes.
If any of my readers are truck drivers.. or work in the trucking industry.. could you tell me why I have such a hard time getting my freight moved from point A to my house?
I ordered a simple pallet of stuff.. and it sat on a dock from Tuesday until Friday.. and it was only when I called and asked where it was.. they went “Hey, you are right! We do have a pallet just sitting here.” They then promised me it would be here Monday, and well you guessed it.. it wasn’t.
It arrived today, (when I wasn’t there), so the Shipping Manager (aka #1) and #2 unloaded the freight, and took these fabulous photos for you.
Since I have the driveway from hell.. (I believe done on purpose so The Man can live a solitary life)
Here’s the truck sitting on the road.
#1 drove this beauty.. down to meet the Roadway guy.
We call this “the big white truck” (for obvious reasons). It used to be an old mail truck..
Now it’s an old eBay truck.
Here’s the driver and #2 unloading the truck.
#2 moves the junk to the end of the trailer and #1 loads it into “the big white truck”.
Since it was only 1 pallet it took like 10 minutes..
Bye Roadway Guy!.. Until next time
Now to get it photographed, written up, inventoried, and put on eBay!
I’m In Love with a Front Door.. is this possible?
I went to my mother-in-law’s house this weekend… and fell in love with her front door. Can you fall in love with a front door?
Do you love this hanging basket?
I don’t know if you’ve ever seen my front lawn.. but it doesn’t look like this.
I wish her son (The Man) had this kind of green thumb ![]()
Do you think she would EVER refer to her son as “The Man”? I’ll have to ask her that some day. I wonder what The Man’s two younger brothers would be called? But let’s get back to my love…
Here’s what I fell in love with…
OO–OH how I would like for my front porch to be this inviting..
This makes me sigh.. I’m in love with a front door, and I don’t care who knows.
Victory smells a lot like Starbucks
Today the family went to my sweet niece’s 16th birthday party. We had a great time eating and talking.. when all of a sudden a Wii Rock Band Challenge was issued. Bands were chosen, and 3 Starbucks gift cards were the prizes up for grabs. (My kids love Starbucks I’m not sure why)
I didn’t pay much attention to the teams (bands). I was pretty sure #2 would be playing with one of his cousins, and #3 would be playing with her friend. I was pretty sure no one would let #4 play because he was too young. In the back of my mind I thought just maybe.. they would remember all their hours of Rock Band playing I mean homeschool music they’ve done and play as a band together… and
They did!
There’s #2 on the guitar, #3 on the drums, and #4 singing lead vocals.
There he is (#4) singing his heart out..
After all the bands played the judges picked …
These cute kids.. (see their gift cards?)
I guess all that playing I mean “homeschool music” paid off!
Just in case you wondered.. the winning song was “Don’t Fear the Reaper” by Blue Oyster Cult.
I know it’s June.. But The Bugs are taking over my House
I came home the other night to this…
I’ve never seen this many june bugs. When I think of june bugs.. I thnk of my mother, and her mother.
When I was a kid, my grandmother used to tell this story of a girl she went to school with named
Ima June Bug… BUT my favorite story was the one she told about my mother and the june bug.
When my mother was a little girl, she had to sleep on the floor because company was there or something…
When she woke up the next morning she screamed in pain every time she moved her head.
My grandmother couldn’t figure out what was wrong, she shined a flashlight in my mother’s ear and
one of these crawled out. My mother and I haven’t spoke in 4 years, but I remember that
story from my childhood about my mother as a child and it makes me smile. I feel like I some how
got a small glimpse into who she was as a child. Funny how little things like a june bug could make
you miss someone.
