Peanut Butter Marshmallow Treats

The Man loves peanut butter… I’m always looking for something with peanut butter that will make him happy.  A few weeks ago someone made Rice Crispy Treats with this hard coating type frosting.  After eating those, I thought why not make them with Captain Crunch instead of Rice Krispies?  So here they are.. I hope you like them!

Peanut Butter crunch cereal.

Crock Pot Beef Carbonnade So Good.. So Simple

When I made this.. it was out of desperation.  I didn’t have much on the pantry shelves, and only slightly remembered some kind of fancy named food called Beef Carbonnade.  Which is basically a super rich beer stew.   I only took a photo of the finished product.. because I was pretty sure it would be a flop… but it wasn’t :)

Here’s what you need:

1 bottle of brown beer.  (I used Sam Adams Autumn Ale)

2lbs of round steak, flank, or roast meat

1 8oz can of tomato paste

2 onions sliced thin

1 cup flour

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 1/2 cups beef broth or stock

Salt and pepper to taste

Throw all the ingredients into your slow cooker (except the meat).. mix together, making sure the tomato paste and flour is incorporated.  Add the meat, cover and cook for 6+ hours.

When it’s finished serve over wide noodles  OR over mashed potatoes.  I added some homemade sweet onion rings to the top of mine.
