Happy Birthday to The Man…
Happy Birthday Billy!
It’s The Man’s birthday.. today’s blog is going to be about him with a little eBay thrown in. I don’t know how I got lucky and managed to catch him. For some reason he thinks all my bad qualities are "a piece of cake". He’s a great husband, father, provider and friend. I am really blessed that he loves me and is SO patient with me.
When I first started selling stuff on eBay in 1998, I didn’t want to tell anyone about it; partially because I didn’t know if I could do it or not. I loved going to this auction http://www.strickersauction.com
One night I bought a 48" Jenn-air stove top there for $50.00. It was brand new, but out of the box. I bought it to put in our new home (The house that eBay built). I realized after taking it home, that the HUGE pans I have would not fit on the burner moduals. I told The Man I would sell it on eBay… his response? "Who would buy that? and Buy smaller pans!"

It looked a little like this, but without the grill.. all "smooth" top and electric
His response depressed me a little, but it didn’t deter me from my goal. I put the stove on eBay at auction for 100.00 with a 650.00 Buy it Now. I realize these sell for more in the store, but I didn’t want to be greedy, and I thought if I could turn it over quickly and make some money I’d be happy. The Man and I left to go eat dinner with http://stores.ebay.com/btdownhome (she and I are good friends) While at her house I checked on my listing.. and it had sold withint 5 hours of me puting it on!
I did the happy dance and the I told-you-so-shuffle, all around The Man. He was pretty happy about the price too.. but being The Man, he just smiled.
Happy Birthday to my favorite husband and the best father I know…
Window Shopping for eBay or How much do I love my Mother-in-Law’s home?
We went to one of my favorite houses.. today, my mother-in-laws. She has the perfect blend of new and old in her house, and every time I go.. it’s different. Here’s some highlights from her house.
See these Cow pitchers? I love them.. See the green majolica? Love them too!
Don’t you love these Chocolate rooster molds?
There’s so much more that I love about my mother in law’s house.. (and her too). I didn’t want to take too many photos of her stuff.. I was a bit worried she would think I was scoping the place out.
Nothing, or How I am Mad at Gary Lezak…
Well it’s 9: something PM. Do you know what I’ve done today? Nothing. (ok I’ve done something) But I’ve accomplished NOTHING on the eBay front.
1. I’ve run a few errands with The Man.. and I ate lunch with him.. ALONE.
2. made chili.
3. wrote up one thing for eBay.
4. took a nap on the sofa with The Man.
5. Ate Chili
6. Watch Sex and the City Movie, while I read some blogs.
7. I did not participate in Earth Hour.. because well.. I forgot. (all those green people can flog me now) I actually think EVERY LIGHT in my house was on.. (cue the Trace Atkins song) www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLZ55CiJwmY
So here’s how the snow looked at my house at around 6:45pm.
We received about 3 inches of snow. NOT the 8-12" that Gary Lezak said we would get…
**some of you might question this photo.. this is my front yard. The Man says it’s our front 10 acres. The little gazebo thing he gave me for my birthday last year. Since we disagree on where it goes.. we’ve left it there all lonely and needing a home.
I think I am very angry at Gary Lezak.. the next time he gives me the weather I’m going to have Child #5 give him this look…
Don’t you love a strong man holding a baby? It makes me want baby #6. Don’t tell The Man.. he said NO to Baby #2, #3, #4, & #5…
To The Man: baby=money
To me: baby=love
FINALLY I’m going to work on eBay stuff oh and it’s SNOWING…
So I’ve run all kinds of errands today.. and written my Confirmation Class Worksheets for the weekend. FINALLY.. I’m ready to write up a few eBay things.
Look… it’s starting to snow!
So after waiting.. and waiting.. it’s starting to snow. Gary Lezak said it would start at 11:00 AM.. it’s started about 3:00…
Here’s another picture.. You might notice.. those white spots those are flakes.
This photo was taken off my front porch. You can’t see the snow yet.. but can you see the ice in the trees? I sure hope the electricity stays on. Which reminds me of the Ice Storm of 2002… that was not fun. We were without power for 7 days. The kids and I spent a lot of time at the library during that seven days.
