Calling all pin-up girls .. this number is for you!

A fabulous vintage two-piece sun suit done in an amazing rayon print.. a tropical confection of stylized Protea flowers and leaves on a summery yellow ground!

The bra-top is worn strapless or halter style with interior buttons at bodice “points”. The back features a 3 button closure on the band for size adjustment (one each of the front and back buttons have gone missing). The top is lined in silky rayon fabric with side boning for support. The gathered keyhole front is a great design detail! Marked size medium and labeled ~ “McKeever’s California”.

The high-waist “tap” style shorts are marked a vintage size 16 and are lined in cotton. They feature waist darts in the back and a bit of elastic in the waistband for ease, a step-in style with a snap, a metal zipper and a snap tab closure on the left side. There is an area of stress to the fabric as indicated by arrow on the left thigh area as well as a very faint water mark nearby and also near the flowers on the opposite thigh. Both are difficult to see even when looking for them. Lastly, the interior cotton has some faint yellowing & discoloration throughout – none of which is seen when worn.

Condition: Very Good with noted exceptions! A summertime gem from the 1940′s! Bra Top:
BUST: 31 to 33″ under bust (with adjustable button) – actual cups vary with keyhole drawstring allowance & amount of cleavage shown
HIPS: (approx.): 42″ (measured 8″ below waistband)
LENGTH: (waist to hem, outseam): 13.5″

Although our model is a size small bordering on extra small, this garment has been clipped to fit her for photos.
This item will fit up to a modern size 8 and possibly a modern 10.

Mens Vintage 1900 Wool Bathing Suit Unworn Red and Black Sold $117.00 By Chesneywold Check it out HERE. Ca. 1900 mens one piece wool bathing suit in red and black stripes. This is either a mens small or a boys medium to large. It is unworn but there are two small holes on the front at chest area as seen in photo link below. In 30 years of collecting mens vintage clothing this is the first one piece suit we have seen that buttons at the bottomof the crotch which leads us to think this was a boys suit or it was worn with shorts. Fine weave and it is still flat from being folded and never worn. 26 inches from shoulder strap to crotch. 16 inches across chest at underarms and 14.5 inches at waiste. This of course will strecth so would size this at about a mens 38. The holes are small and can be stiched if you want to wear it or looks great for display. see photo link below. Ask any questions all sales final no returns
