#4 has had issues with his "r" and "l" sounds for quite some time.  At the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year I took him in to our local school district to be evaluated.  After his evaluation we decided he would go in for an hour and a half each morning to work on the areas I couldn't seem to get him to work. (Cause you know.. he's homeschooled.)

#4 and his Reading Teacher.

Since they helped #4 read .. I thought it would be unusual to do a painting  on newspaper.  I got the idea from this print on a old dictionary page.

I painted flowers on newspaper and then decoupage them on the clay pot.

I painted the pots, then painted the flowers on the newspaper.

I cut out the initials of one teacher… but then couldn't find "good" letters for the others.. so I just painted those.

#4 picked out the flowers for each of his teachers.

I think they liked them.

I'm going to try making these with Girl Scouts.. I'll let you know how that goes.
