Almost every auction I go to there is some kind of vintage funky chair. I thought I do some research and see what vintage chairs are going for…
I think this chair is beautiful.. but I don’t think it would
last 10 minutes in my house.. some kid would be jumping
off those arms.

1970’s Original Herman Miller Eams Lounge Chair and Ottoman Sold $3150.00 by eBay Seller enrico4200 Check it out HERE.
Here’s what the Seller said about the chairs: Beautiful Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman I inherited this chair from my father. He bought it in 1978 or so. The photo with the label on the underside of the chair has my original artwork in pencil. I was about five years old when I made it. 🙂 Based on photos of other chairs and history of the chair, I believe it is rosewood. The set is in very good condition with no major issues but it does have a few nicks and scratches including:
* a dent in the underside of the chair
* small split in the headrest seam in the leather
* some scratches in the leather
* a nick in the ottoman
I’ve tried to show these small flaws in the photos. They are not very noticeable and the chair and ottoman are really nice looking and of course, very comfortable.
This chair is one of a kind.. and pretty cool!
Rare Antique Folk Art Sewer Tile Garden Chair Selling Price: $2800.00 Sold by selltiques. Check it out HERE
Here’s what the seller has to say: Here is an antique, sewer tile chair. My grandfather made two of these, when he worked for the Laclede Fire Brick Company in St. Louis. My aunt had one and my parents had the other. My grandfather died in 1931. I’m not sure in what year the chair was made. The chair is stamped “Laclede St. Louis.” The top piece was broken and was put back on with cement. The chair measures about 37″ high, 26&1/2″ wide, and 24″ deep. Local pickup or I will work with the shipper of your choice. The chair weighs between 150 and 200 pounds.
I’ve seen variations of these chairs quite a few time…
Herman Miller Eames Zenith Paw Pivot Walnut Dowel Chair Sold $2058.00 by eBay Seller modernesia. Check it out HERE.
Here’s what the seller has to say: 100% ORIGINAL VINTAGE HERMAN MILLER CHARLES EAMES ZENITH PLASTICS 1ST PRODUCTION 1949 “SEA FOAM GREEN” FIBERGLASS ROPE EDGE SHELL “SENG” PAW PIVOT WALNUT DOWEL LEG CHAIR IN NEAR PERFECT CONDITION! – be sure to check my other listings for an Elephant Hide colored Zenith Rocking chair, Time Life Walnut stool and early Ebony Evans DCM chair!
OFFERING: a highly sought after “Sea Foam Green” 1st production Zenith Plastics fiberglass shell Walnut dowel leg Pivot chair (model “PAW”) designed by the legendary Charles Eames for Herman Miller from 1949-1950. The pictures tell the real story as this chair is 100% original vintage and completely intact but I will point out some of the finer details following.
CONDITION: This exceptional condition 1st production Zenith Shell has the distinguished rope edge bead that runs the entire outer edge of the chair with the unique detail of the imbedded rope in just the bottom edge, this variation of edge treatment is rarely found in just the earliest year of the 1st production when they experimented with production techniques. There’s loads of varigated fiber texture with consistent light “sea foam green” opacity throughout and a brilliant original gel coat sheen with no cracks, fractures, stains or repairs to the fiberglass…practically flawless. The shock mounts are originally glued, supple and appear practically new. The original checkerboard Zenith decal is almost fully intact with all authenticatlng manufacturing marks fully legible.
The increasingly rare Walnut Dowel leg pivoting swivel “SENG Chicago” base is in outstanding condition and is the earliest 1st production style with the heavy duty overlapping “X” support struts which were later reduced to welded diagonal tabs. Its swivel rotation is tight, smoothe, wobble free and silent. It retains its’ original black finish and the cats cradle rod strut has very minor evidence of surface wear with no bends, breaks, rewelds or obvious signs of heavy use evident. The original rich grained Walnut dowel legs are exceptionally clean and are free of any chips, splits, damage or repair and just show typical bottom wear consistent with age. They retain all 4 original acrylic foot glides that show just minor bottom wear as would be expected. All hardware appears original, is fully functional and authentic to the 1st production era.
