Best You Day 58
I took a brief hiatus from my "Best You" blog posts because of Extreme Home Makeover and a Mission Trip to Joplin.
What did I do today? It was our first day of school.. and what a crazy day it was. It was my first day with 4 children in school and 1 baby thinking he should be in school. Or at least getting the attention he normally gets when school is not in session.
What did I feel today? Slightly frustrated.. and a little tired
What do I feel grateful for today? The man brought Oklahoma Joe's home for me.
It made my day.
What challenged me? whining.. grumpy, impatient children.
How did I overcome that challenge? I called the principal and whined to him.
What did I savor today? I was reminded again what a HUGE job I have being responsible for my childrens education.
How about you? What are your answers? Here is why I'm doing this.
First Day of School 2011
Yesterday I posted our 1st day of school photos from years past. HERE It looks like this year isn't much different.
There are the 2 models.. and the 2 that look like they want to be somewhere else. There is also the 1/2 naked baby. We aren't sure about him.
When I look at this picture… I see #4 standing there in front.. looking cute, #5 in the yellow STILL trying to talk instead of get his picture taken.. #3 is trying to smile while holding her brother back.. I don't know what is wrong with #2… he looks like he just lost his best friend. Then there's #6.. the baby. I think he's looking for something to drool on or maybe wondering why his mother doesn't dress him in the morning.
Just in case you wanted to know what a homeschooling mother's desk looks like…
Homeschooling….
As you are reading this I'll be at the homeschool convention. If you've never been to one… you don't know what you are missing. There are tons of people… looking for the perfect book… and these people..
There are plenty-o-mothers in these bad boys. The denim jumper USE TO BE the staple in every homeschool mothers wardrobe.. then this Homeschooling mom came along…
This homeschooling mother.. not only looks good but she intimidates this mother..
(yes.. I know this is Eva Longoria, but she's just here for an example) All of these homeschooling mothers freak this mother out..
I use to go to these conventions with a bunch of other moms that were normal.. and then their children all grew up and graduated. So… now I'm left alone to fend for myself and try not to be intimidated by all the bread baking, 2 year old's already reading, nursing until their kids are 12, homeschooling mothers… that intimidate and freak me out.
Because well.. my kids aren't doing any reading when they are 2.. nursing until they are 12 .. and I don't bake my own bread… wish me luck..
Just in case you were wondering I'll be taking photos to share with you… They don't scare me that bad
Monday’s a Good Day to Pout.. Right?
Sometimes school can be hard on a kindergartner. Sometimes
you just don't want to do school. It's much more fun to play
the legend of Zelda.
#5 thought he could out "stubborn" his mother.
He refused to do his math, so I had him sit down and when
he was ready to do his school to let me know. By the way that Saxon
Math is not his.. I like to think he's advanced.. just not that advanced.
He thought I was a little side tracked with the other kids, and
put on a bright blue knee-high sock. He heard me snap the
picture….
and went back to pouting..
