How Hard Can it be? Shooting an Instructional Shipping Video

Have you ever shot an instructional video? It sounds easier than it actually is. A few weeks ago I was chosen to be one of the Scotch 3M Brand Shipping Experts. I was pretty excited about it .. until I realized it was harder to shoot a video than it looks on TV ;). I'll post the videos soon.. but I wanted you to see what I saw shooting the video.

This is #2.. he can run the camera.. but was so excited about

me doing the video he couldn't hold the camera still!

Then there's this girl… #1. She shot most of the videos.

One of the things I learned about myself shooting these videos? I have issues remembering my name! I have no problem showing someone how to wrap a book, multiple breakables or plates. .. but GOOD GRAVY don't ask me to remember my name and where I am from!

For some reason my two tallest children thought it would be

a good idea to stand on a chair to shoot the video.. of their

very short mother.

Soon.. very soon.. you can laugh at my video's like #1 is doing 🙂

I took this photo at the Chattanooga Aquarium in the Butterfly house.

1. School the Monkey’s (it’s a light school day.. YEA for Fridays!)

2. Get my curriculum lined up..

3.  Write up eBay stuff (I still have those SUNGLASSES to finish)

4.  #3’s Solo Costume + Make Thing 1 and Thing 2’s Shirts *** This will take up most of my day **

5.  Wii time..

6.  Dinner= Steak Sandwiches, french fries, salad… Going to re-try to have this meal tonight.

7. CLEAN the dang house.

8. Help #3 sew some American Girl Doll Clothes.

Crazy Question of the Week.. or Does This Make Me Look Fat?

I woke up to this Question from a eBay member:

"I’m going to try and make this question as simple as possible. I am looking for a nurses unifrorm for my halloween costume(yes I believe in getting an early start because my costumes take a lot of effort. I am going to be a lunch lady this year. This costume is what I need. However I am not pregnant, I just need to look fat. I usually wear a 12 -14 dress. Could I fit into this Maternity smock ya think and would it make me look kind of fat like a lunch lady. With an apron on I think I would look pretty cool. Thanks for the help."

Her first comment "I’m going to try and make this question as simple as possible."  I’m thinking.. huh?!?!?.. this chick must know me…  I keep reading and think.. she’s a planner, and a perfectionist, I can respect this.  But the more I think about how to answer this question, the more confused I make myself.

For once in my life I am feeling like The Man trapped in the crazy questions I ask him.. like "Who’s the first woman you ever loved?" or "Do you like going shopping with me?" or "Do I look fat in this?"  These are no win questions.. set up by a woman who doesn’t really want the TRUE answer anyway. 

So I emailed her back and said: "I think you will achieve the look you are going for in this nurse uniform.  Thanks for looking at my auctions".  See I have learned some diplomacy from The Man in the 15 years we’ve been spending time together on this earth.
