The Easter Bunny comes to our house on Saturday morning… Why?  Well because the Youth are responsible for the Sunrise Service at church. and the Easter Bunny knows it's not fun to be up before sunrise at our house… so he comes on Saturday. 🙂 When he comes he leaves our baskets on the stairs by our age, so the youngest is on the first step… on up to the oldest on the 7th step. 🙂

Here Bunny… Bunny..

It's a busy Easter weekend here at our house. I think the bunny knew it… and came early.

I know a 2 month old baby doesn't need coconut.. but his mother does…

#5 and #4's stuff….

#4's stuff.. I think the bunny believes she's going to learn to sew..

#2's basket. I don't know what that junk is…

Looks like #1 is getting some yarn…

Eggs.. hidden in eggs…

Even the Degus had some eggs hidden around them…

Thinking about Easter’s Past…

I’ve been thinking a lot about Easter.  (It is next week you know.) I love helping the Easter Bunny hide eggs. I love watching the kids go through their Easter baskets and eat all their candy before we get home from church. This never makes The Man happy.  He wants them to eat in moderation.  I don’t care, I just don’t want to hear the fights over “who took who’s egg” a week or really a day after Easter.

I started going through old photos of Easter’s past.  I found these of the kids dying eggs

This year we obvious used the Paas Sparkle egg set.

My children REFUSE to use the little dipper thing.. so their hands

are always stained.  (How do you like the crooked picture in the background?)

Good Gravy!  These kids look like they just woke up or something.

Couldn’t their mother fix their hair and get them out of their P.J.’s?

Ok.. this is really what they look like everyday before their father

gets home from work.. but don’t tell him.

These two look like they’ve just voted in the Iraq election with

their purple fingers.

Egg dying.. keeps the monkey’s quiet.

I think years later #3 STILL has this purple dye on her hands.

#5 inspecting his chocolate egg..

I have no idea what’s going on in this photo..  I’m sure #3

is going to say something about #5 “inspecting” her

chocolate egg.

Happy Easter from Kansas!

Traditionally Easter is the time to dress your children up and take their photos.  Easter kind of snuck up on me this year, and I didn’t get any Easter photos OR fabulous Easter clothes. I did make a dress for child #3 and it was TOO big and fit child #1.  This upset child #3 a lot.  So I made her a skirt and matching American Doll Skirt.  I forgot to take photos of the girls. But here are some photos I took a couple of days before Easter.. they aren’t dressed up and clean.. but I think they are pretty darn cute.

#1 and #3 were doing their best Runaway Bride impersonations…

We did have a traditional spiral sliced ham, garlic scalloped potatoes (my own recipe), peas and homemade croissants. Today the season of Lent was over and I finally was able to drink my favorite, Tazo Passion Tea. If you’ve never had it.. you should try it.  You can get it at Starbucks.. I order mine this way; "Can I have a Venti Passion Iced Tea Unsweeted with 3 Splenda?"

Here was MY perfect bit of ham.. see that brown around the edges.. I love it!

These are my croissants.. with the help of child #1 (the shipping manager) and The Man.. they were super good..  Notice their flakiness?

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter.. we had a pretty good one here in Kansas.
