No Wondering About It! eBay Has some Defect Issues!

So way back on August 30th.. I purchased a cute little needlepoint canvas. I paid the same day, and since it was close to a holiday (Labor Day), I kind of forgot about it.  Today I realized I hadn't received the needlepoint, so I thought.. "Hey! I'll message the seller and see if she knows where it is!"

I went to my line up under "Purchase History" Selected "contact seller"

nuttyneedle1I select "I haven't received my item"

This screen comes up… Where it says "Communicate with Seller" I was thinking.. this doesn't look like the "message seller" page.. but perhaps they changed it.

***This is a continuation of the page above.. I just couldn't fit it all on one page***

I clicked  "I still want my item" and entered my phone number.  Do you see the wording where it says: "Note: If you decide to open an eBay Money Back Guarantee Case, Customer Support may review your messages between you and the seller to help resolve the problem."  Because of this statement I thought I was NOT opening a case.. I entered a message for the seller hit Submit… and guess what?

nuttyneedle5  I opened a case…

Can a eBay Case Be Opened Over 30 Days Past the Sale Date?

So I woke up today to a case opened by a buyer.  There are a TON of reasons this case should not have been opened, but the first one is that the sale date is JULY 22!

  suddenlysimplyThe other reasons…

  1. I listed it new with defects, stated the defects and took a photo of the defects… buyer is complaining about what I mentioned.
  2. The buyer altered the item by washing it.

I called eBay and they agree, that this case should not have opened, because it was 30 days past the sale date. They want me to wait for the buyer to respond or for 3 days to go by, and call again to have eBay close the case out because the buyer altered the item by washing it.   I pressed the eBay CS rep on how and why the case was opened in the first place since it was past 30 days.  He didn't have an answer.

I did a little checking on my own…

The items below are both things that *I* purchased.  I bought one August 21st and the other on August 28th. These two items are between the date that the buyer that opened a case against me. You'll see that I can not open a case against my sellers.. Why was the buyer able to open a case against me?

suddenlysimply1

suddenlysimply2You can see that both of these screen shots show that "The deadline has passed to open a case."  How is it possible that that my buyer can open a case, but I can't.  Why are we using a defect system that CLEARLY has issues and is not ready for roll out?

New Way’s to Make an Offer on eBay

Today I received a message from a buyer on one of my active items.

newoffer

See that in blue?  "New! Now you can send and offer directly to the member for this item"  I'm pretty excited about this new feature.  I had no idea that eBay was going to do this.

When you click on the link it takes you HERE:
newoffer1You can put in your offer price and send the buyer a message.  I like this.. a lot!

How Do You Ship Your Items?

A couple of weeks ago I bought a scissor fob to attach to my needlepoint scissors.  This is how I received my item…

pigsfly1It was wrapped in a poly-mailer, and placed in this cute pink striped vellum envelope.  There was a sweet sparkle-y heart and a ribbon too!

pigsfly2Inside the vellum was my bubble wrapped item.  Is this cute or what?

Do you wrap your items up special? I would like to do some kind of special branding for my items… but I think it would add more time to #1's wrapping.  Do you think branding like this is important?
