We’ve lived in our house for about 9 years. The Man and I designed the house and built it thinking it would be complete and finished 6 months to a year after we built it. Almost 9 years has gone by and we are still living in a house without knobs on the cabinets, properly set doors and landscaping, as in NO landscaping.
The Man is really good with all things electrical. Putting up lights and the thought of being shocked doesn’t phase him… except the light in my kitchen. For some reason he’s just doesn’t want to tackle that. (it’s partially my fault.) I don’t want you to think we don’t have a light in the kitchen, because we do. It’s just we have a plain Jane kind of fixture and I want a fancier one. What I would like for it to look like is this:
The man says that he would have to put extra holes in the ceiling to make this kind of light work. (I would like multiple pendant lights.(
So here are a few “single” lights I’ve picked out.
I love this pot rack type light. I just don’t have any nice looking pots to hang from it. My mother-in-law has one of these and she has beautiful copper pans and vintage copper things hanging from it.

This light would be perfect in my upstairs hallway… We have already purchased the fixtures for up there. He hasn’t put those up yet. ..but that’s another blog for another day.
Here’s more information than you really wanted to know about me…
1. What was your favorite childhood television program? I loved “I Dream of Jeannie”… “Gilligan’s Island” and the “Brady Bunch”. My mom would let me watch them when I got home from school if I didn’t get a check mark next to my name for talking in class. Also, “I Dream of Jeannie” prepared me for saying “Yes Master!” to The Man. 😉
2. Are you a morning or night person? Night. I think move and act better in the evening. A perfect day for me would be waking up at 9:00 am taking a nap at 2:00PM and going to bed at around 1:30AM or 2:00AM. (yes.. I am a freak show)
3. Which do you prefer, sweet or salty foods? Both. Have you see me lately?
4. Autobots or Decepticons? I asked #5 about this.. He loves Transformers See Here and Here He told me I should like Autobots.. So well I guess I do.
5. Apple juice or orange juice? Orange Juice please. I like orange juice, but don’t have it very often in my house. My kids drink it like it has healing powers. When I was a kid my mother equated orange juice with wealth.
6. Are you a collector of anything? I collect American Bisque Pigs, and Adams Calyxware Metz dishes. I’ve also been know to collect a quilt or two.
7. If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Invisibility.. But I would never be invisible.. because I’d always be running my mouth.
8. Ever been addicted to a video/computer game? Which one(s)? Solomon’s Key back when I was in school and now maybe Super Mario Brother’s Wii. I like to play it with my kids. They are amazed at my “mad” skills.
9. Have any celebrity crushes? Jeff Goldblum, Mike Rowe, Hank Azaria, Stanley Tucci I have strange taste in men huh? I wonder what that says about The Man?

That’s a long time huh? If you know me well.. you’ll completely understand how old this is once you see the photo below.

Now.. if you know me.. or you’ve frequent Strickers.. you will know I’ve had a permanent
number (163) at that auction house since 1999. Everyone knows a number like 541 is
for a newbie.. (and Yes.. we cleaned that off before we shipped it)
Look at the smile on #1’s face. She’s SO Happy to see this gone.
When the eBay Sold notification came in, I cheered (as only a
eBay Queen would), and then said to #1.. “What’s the one thing you’d
like to see sold, that hasn’t sold?” Without hesitation she says; “That
green vase?!?!” I hope the new owner is just as happy to see it
arrive at their doorstep as we are to see it leave our shelf!
