Just for The Man

The Man and I don’t always agree on things. You know.. like cleanliness, toliet seats, toothpicks… politics. You see he’s a conservative…. He never told me that before we were married. In fact he didn’t vote until he met me. I am a moderate. I want to give each side a chance.

The man usually comes home from work with some kind of crazy comment.. like “keep the change” etc.

SO.. while in the Wal-Mart parking lot this morning I saw this.and thought of the man.

The Man has a Twin?

Here’s The Man and #3.

Sunday morning I was standing before our church, hugging the 2009 Ottawa High School Graduates.. when I looked over the crowd and thought I saw The Man sitting with a family, that wasn’t ours!  Then I remembered he didn’t wear a plaid shirt today, and he was an ushering… But it fooled me just of a second.

They say everyone has a twin… I guess this is The Man’s. How I’ve gone to church with this man for 9-10 years and never seen this is weird. (maybe it shows how much I pay attention)  I know his wife, and daughter, even his grandchildren.  But I never noticed how much he looks like The Man.

You see it too right?

Your Wife Want’s What?

Several years ago I asked The Man for a clematis plant.  He came through with a beautiful fuchsia-purple plant. This plant has really taken off this year. The flowers are big, about 4″-5″ across, and the colors are unbelievable.

This plant sits on the side of my house, and each time I walk by it, I think of The Man… and how he looked high and low for this plant.

He went to one of the local garden places and looked around.  When finally one of the employees came over and asked him; “Can I help you find something?”  He replied; “My wife wants a plant, it’s a vine, and I can’t think of the name.”

“Morning Glory? or maybe a Climbing Hydrangea?” she said.   “How about a potato vine or maybe a honeysuckle?”  “No, no, I believe it’s a chlamydia plant.” The Man replies cheerfully. (for those of you that do no know, chlamydia is a STD, and not the beautiful flower you see above)

I have never found out what she said to him, because even right now that makes me laugh so hard, I can’t bring myself to ask him.

Mothers Day Saturday Gardening with the Family

My Mothers Day weekend started out with a trip to Enright Gardens and Sandcreek Nursery We loaded up the car and headed out.

Because my children have figured out that I am going to blog about them, they have become a bit surly when I tell them I want to take their photo.  (note #1 and #3 aren’t doing it.. just the boys). I also love how #1 is sucking up in her “employee of the month” t-shirt.

Enright Gardens.. fabulous!

#2’s finger being eaten by a snapdragon

Their Baskets are BEAUTIFUL!

I love old rusty metal things to put in my garden.

#4 feels we need a cart for our purchases

Yes.. I randomly accost The Man and kiss him my children think this is a combination of gross and funny. I’m not sure what The Man thinks about it.

I forgot to take a photo of my loot from Enrights.. But I promise.. I got some FABULOUS stuff.. I’ll take photos of it when I get it planted.

From here we moved to Sandcreek nusery.  I lost my my mojo to take photos at Sandcreek.. but my kids came through…

Here’s #5 he thought I needed some yellow mums for Mother’s Day.

The Man explaining to his children to get out of the rocks.. don’t you love the man’s socks? That’s all him baby.

#1 and #3 thought I needed this rose bush.  This photo doesn’t do this rose bush justice.  This rose was about 6 inches across.

#2 and his mother.. he’s never embarrassed to hold his mother’s hand

See the bumble bee?
