Weddings and Anniversaries Bring a Tear to My Eye..

Today the Man and I have been married 13 years. It seems like a long time, and like no time at all has passed. Weird how that all works. We were married in Rantoul, Kansas at the Presbyterian Church. We invited lots of people, but didn't really think anyone would come… as it turned out, everyone wanted to see if we were actually going to do it!

Here we are.. #1, me, #2 and The Man.

I know.. I know.. your thinking.. how could she have those 2 children so

fast after the wedding.. and all I can say to you is, God works in mysterious ways.

Here's the Man and the minster (John Raske) that married us.

I believe he's showing him how I am going to "love, honor and obey." Or is it eBay?

I'm not sure why this is so blurry.. but here's the kiss. As I remember it,

it was a good one! My dress had the most FABULOUS train.. Our wedding started at

6:00pm, and my dress was suppose to be delivered by 2:30. It didn't get there until

5:52pm. I never saw myself in it that day. Weird huh?

In case you needed proof I am short. I had on 4" heels in this picture!

Not a bad looking group…

My friend since forever… We are still

super close.. My life would not be the same without her.

We had a sit down dinner for 200 people.. and this is the only photo I have of the food.

I believe we had brisket, chicken (of some kind) mashed potatoes, green beans, shrimp..

and the best garlic biscuit things.

Oh.. and cake.. The cake was so good.. See those LARGE flower things in front?

I had 40 or so cupcakes made for the kids that were coming to the wedding..

#1 and The Man dancing at our wedding.. how sweet is that?

We were standing outside as the sun was setting.. That poor man.. I bet if someone told him he was going to have 3 more children

after this photo he would have thought they were nuts. I'm pretty sure I would have too.

Look! there's his hand before the ring started choking him!

The Man Takes Off His Wedding Ring!

I was so caught up in grading homeschool papers I put off blogging… It seems all I’ve done is go to church, grade papers and cook.

The Man came into the kitchen to wash his hands (I thought).. until one of the kids said; (in a LOUD voice) “Dad’s taking off his wedding ring!” That’s a pretty unusual thing in our house. I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen it off is finger. Apparently he must remove it when he is working with concrete..

This is the hand of The Man… and that is his wedding ring. Do you see

the indention around his finger? It looks like his wedding ring is

choking him. I asked him if it was, and he just laughed..

Look how it’s messed up his finger..

I told him I want to take a picture of it..

and he said “I’m not going to be fodder for your blog!”

(um.. ok.. I guess he doesn’t realize he’s ALWAYS fodder for my blog)

By the end of the day.. it’s back on where it’s suppose to be.

By the way what is fodder? Fodder: inferior or readily available material used to supply a heavy demand.

Sometimes.. Chili isn’t enough

I wanted Chili… but according to the weather here in Kansas, it’s not time for chili. I tried to get approval from The Man.. asking if he thought chili sounded good… he just gave me that "your kidding right?" look.

I need something fabulous.. I need something that would put chili (on a warm day) from the "yea right" category to "that sounds delicious"… So I went searching for the perfect chili-go-together food. Which made me think about when I was in school…(90 years ago) we always had cinnamon rolls with our chili. I thought maybe.. just maybe that would work.

I searched the internet high.. and low. I found this recipe at The Pioneer Woman These are so good..

Here’s what they look like coming out of the oven…

Yummy.. Gooey.. Apple deliciousness.. Really You should try some..

Day One of Adventures with Traveling Batman

The Man, Traveling Batman and I went on a trip to Saint Louis.. Here is our first day.

The Man & I leaving..

Hey.. those kids look TOO happy that their parents are leaving..

Um.. that’s not much better .. #1. You’ll be begging me to come back home in about

3hours. #2 is looking sad.. That #5 thinks his Spiderman webs will stop the car.

Ahhh.. on the road with Traveling Batman…

We reached Blue Springs, MO and had to eat something. Batman wanted Bueno Taco.

(He likes their fresh tomato salsa)

He loves a good guacamole too!

Time for a pit stop.. Traveling Batman liked these super clean bathrooms..

See his smile.. that’s a happy dude..

This photo is especially for #2. You see this would be #2’s perfect meal.

French Fries, Bacon and Ranch dressing.. Batman appears to be cheering for them also.

Batman likes to pump gas.

Look at that form! Superman doesn’t look that good flying in the air!

AAAH.. we arrived in our hotel room. Just like a Super Hero.. Batman (seen here with

one of the Penguin’s penguin) wanted to play a few Nintendo games.

Playing games made him tired.. time for a little nap.

AHHH.. relaxation..
