Excuses..

You may have noticed.. but I've not been blogging much lately.  I have some good excuses…

  1. I spent most of last week at a HUGE sale… which means I was gone from home for several days.. (no blogging)  When I was home my children kind of demanded I pay attention to them.
  2. When I wasn't paying attention to my children, I was fixing photos that #1 took, and  trying to write as much stuff up as I could to list it.
  3. Dinner.. those people ALL want to eat!
  4. I moved all my data from one computer to a "new to me" computer. (no pictures)
  5. I couldn't find my cord for my camera.
  6. I was exhausted because I waited in long lines at the crack of dawn to get into the "big sale"

Those are good one's right?  If not please accept my photo of #6 with a pudding mustache as an apology. 😉

eBay + Feedback = I’ve Seen It All

I got up this morning thinking… "I haven't checked my feedback in awhile.."   and look what I found…

a negative that reads: "did not bid on i only made a offer, but was forced to pay"

Seriously?  This is what the feedback system has come to?  re-donkulous!

I know, I know, it's this wonderful buyer's opinion of the transaction. But I have the power to force a buyer to pay, for their 17.99 offer on a nurse's scrubs?  REALLY?  Since when is an offer not a "bid"?

I contacted eBay Customer Support about it this am.  They don't feel it meets the criteria for feedback removal.. (of course it doesn't)  Let's just leave the DSR 1's there also.. because well, I deserve it.  It's only the buyer's opinion, ruining my business!

Just so you think I didn't make this up.. here's a screen shot.

In a time like this, we must ask ourselves this question: "What would the honey badger do?

What kind of feedback response would you leave this buyer?

Don't know who the honey badger is?  You can check him out here  (PS it has some foul language but is funny)

What Has Happened To The Girls?

I woke up this morning to a crazy rant on Facebook from a girl that was too young to have a Facebook page.  She was going on and on with several choice bad words in each sentence about another girl who was or use to be her best friend.  Like a train wreck, I couldn't look away.  More and more girls started to comment on the original post until there were over 30 comments!  Most of the girls that commented were too young to have a Facebook page.. AND the stuff that they were writing about each other was horrendous.  You might be thinking what I am thinking.. "Didn't their parents see that?"  YEP.. and the parents got involved in the name calling of a 12 year old girl.

All of this got me to thinking… there seems to be a complete lack of intelligence and respect in some girls now days.  I feel I can speak with a little bit of authority on the subject for these reasons:

  1. I am a girl
  2. I have 3 girls that range in age from 13 to 26 that live with me
  3. I am a youth leader
  4. I am a girl scout leader
  5. I live with 4 boys that range in age from 11months to 16 years. Who talk about the girls that act like this.  (If any girl is reading this, it's not positive what the boys are saying either)

Just in case you are not familiar with "what's in" with girls these day.. let me show you.

Below is a "duck face gangsta' pose".  You are not a teenage to twentysomething girl if you don't have one of these poses on your Facebook page.

I would love to know why  middle class white girls want to be gangsters.  BEAUTIFUL, SUPER MODEL… gangsters aka 'Gangsta' Princess' or "Ghetto Princess'. (when I was that age I just wanted to be beautiful.. not a gangster.)   I was trying to think of a popular gangster when I was a kid.. this is who I came up with:

al capone

Al Capone, what a beauty!

While we are on the subject of  gangstas' what's with the gang signs?  Can you tell me why all these girls are  flashing the peace sign or a gang sign in every picture?

Here's another popular pose: "Duck face on the bed at an artistic angle".

Who think this looks attractive, besides Donald Duck?  Can't you see Daisy doing this?

While we are talking about this.. WHY would a mother allow their daughter to put such a seductive pose on Facebook?

Note to my children: NO PHOTOS OF YOU LAYING DOWN.. trying to look seductive. There is a time for this..and it's not on Facebook. Unless you want a job at the Playboy Mansion.  Either way.. we need to talk.

Mona Lisa.. gettin' her gangsta' on.

******If you are faint of heart.. you might not want to read the rest of this… Here are some examples of girls being mean.

These are some example of Facebook comments.

I, don't, know,.. u, tell, us. 😉

Misspelling on purpose.  I am the worst speller. I am horrible at punctuation, but what's the deal with PURPOSELY misspelling things ALL THE TIME?

I like this person's middle name.  It makes me respect them so much more that they have my back.  Do you think they are friends with their Grandparents on Facebook?  I can only imagine how proud my mother or mother in law would be to be friends with their little granddaughter the "M'fer".

The comment with the most black outs?  Was a parent.

I think this was Fergie's status from the Black Eye'd Peas..

"You don't want no drama, No, no drama, no, no, no, no drama So don't pull on my hand boy, You ain't my man, boy, I'm just tryn'a dance boy, And move my hump."

If you are not familiar with the song "My Humps" by the Black Eye'd Peas.. it's funny and makes reference to "startin' drama".

The red arrow "like" is from the boy causing all the problems.

I tried to take a funny (but sad) look at girls these days… I know that not all of them are like this.  It makes me so sad for the ones that are.  The best they feel they could be is a gangsta' princess.  Remember what you wanted to be when you grew up? What would have happened to you if you acted the way these girls are acting?

What will life be like for them in 2 years?  What will life be like for them when they graduate from high school?  Or have their own children?  How are they going to function at work?  Can you imagine going to see your new heart surgeon Dr. Libby 'M'F' Smith? (me neither)

What is Suzani? Or Hey.. I Love this!

I like to give The Man a few hints.. on what I would like for Christmas.  I came across this new Vera Bradley pattern.. and I LOVE IT..

vera bradley Suzani

Vera Bradley Suzani pattern

I had never heard of the term Suzani before.  Did you know that Suzani is a type of embroidery?

You can find this HERE

The term Suzani means "needlework"–specifically, the exquisite silk thread embroidery panels made by Uzbek women. Traditionally this embroidery work began at the birth of a daughter and continued, with the help of family and friends, until the bride's dowry was complete.

LOVE THIS!

I would love to Vera Bradley's Suzani in the "Good Book Cover" or the "Accordion Wallet" or "The Metropolitian" (but it's kinda pricy) or the "Tech Case
