Halloween.. it’s not just about the Candy!

This Halloween there was a lot of debate on what #3 wanted to be. First she wanted to be a gumball machine… I had no idea how I would even ATTEMPT to make that. Then she wanted to be a witch, but that idea fell through. We finally decided on a peacock.

I think the only reason she wanted to be a peacock? The eyelashes..

Pretty Groovy um.. Peacock-ish huh?

We made a tutu in navy, light blue, gold, green and purple.. added some peacock

feathers to her hair and behind her back.. and Bob’s your uncle… she was a peacock.

#4 and #5 wanted to be Mario and Ben 10. Mario is from the Nintendo

fame.. and Ben 10 is well, Ben 10 from the Cartoon Network show.

That Mario.. he’s so cute! I’m pretty sure his favorite part was

the mustache I drew on!

Here’s #3 and her friends getting ready to go take on the town.

Don’t you think #5 has a pretty big bag to fill?

Isn’t this the best looking Ben 10 you’ve ever seen?

Thinking about Halloween Past..

This year #2 didn't dress up. I don't know if he thought he was too old, or if he really didn't want to trick-o-treat. Last year, thanks to the election and his super cool mother (me) he had a fabulous costume. He was a voting booth.

I painted a box..

Took a brown paper bag and put Obama on one

and John McCain on the other.

And Bob's Your Uncle.. you get a voting booth. (Please ignore the dumb look

and the fact that #2 doesn't have on 2 socks. This is not my fault. It's

his fathers.)

#2 had people vote with their candy. Can you tell who won?

I don't know why I am including this photo.. I think it's just because I love it..

It says so much.. but mostly that my son will do whatever I tell him too.

White Nursing Dresses.. they aren’t just for Nurses

Last year (around this time) I lucked into finding around 100 different nurses dresses. You know the kind that nurses used to wear.. before there were scrubs?

There is a whole blog about that here.

These were brand new with tags, and hadn’t see the light of day in years. So what’s an eBay Queen to do? I bought them of course! I knew I would put them on eBay, but I had no idea that there was such a market for Nurse uniforms! Some of my uniforms were bought for the opening bid of 19.99 with free shipping and others went for $75-$100. I had some buyers want them for what they are, nurse uniforms and others that wanted them for work dresses, that they were going to alter in some way.

My biggest eBay buyers were men that wanted to look like this:

Batman The Dark Knight came out in video at just the right time… here is the late

Heath Ledger as the Joker in a nurse uniform. Here’s how to make your own: www.associatedcontent.com/article/1092223/how_to_make_your_own_joker_nurse_halloween.html

This just goes to show you.. you never know when something as simple as a nurses uniform will turn into cash.
