What Should I Do With Finished Needlepoint?

I have issues.  If you’ve read my blog for very long, you know I have a few issues.  If you are a relative or a close personal friend,  this blog will not surprise you.

I love to needlepoint.  It calms me… it makes me happy… and well it gives me something to do when I’m not doing anything.  #1 was looking for a new tapestry needle for me when she found my partial stash of finished needlepoints.  She got on me a little because I haven’t “finished” them in the way that most people would consider them finished.  They  haven’t been made into a pillow or framed etc..

Obviously I like poppies…

This is about 1/2 of my finished stuff.  See the pumpkin?  That

belongs to my friend Tammy.  See the “E”  I found an “S” the other

day.  Now I can have my initials!

I painted the canvas and stitched it up a few years

ago for her birthday.  (yes that says a FEW years ago)  Tammy

loves all things Halloween.  Check out her Halloween party HERE.

I’m such a bad friend.. Tammy if you are reading this.. we should

go to an auction and eat flat cheeseburgers..

This little piggy took me FOREVER to finish.. he’s pretty cute huh?

I was going to use this as a pillow in my entry way…

I bought this hand painted canvas on eBay.. and finished it with

pearl cotton.  It’s suppose to go hang on my “needlepoint ornament

tree”.  There are few that are destined for that tree.. as soon as they

are finished :).

Here’s one I actually did finish… and made into a pillow. I bought this

at a needlepoint shop in Buckhead Georgia.  The woman there convinced

me to use different threads besides wool.. I used velvet on this one.

5 Things I want RIGHT NOW on eBay

It’s been a while since I’ve day dreamed about a few things I’d like to have on eBay… So here they are:

1. This is stupid.. but it’s what I need this VERY second.. Advantage Flea Treatment for Kittens. I’m pretty sure the kittens I rescued have fleas..

2. #4 and #5 could use one of these. I’ve been looking for one for a LONG time.. You see I bought the cars for this, but not the track. I thought we could use the track we have.. but we can’t… it’s a special track that Brio doesn’t make any more..

3. I’m not sure this would classify as a need.. but these are pretty wicked awesome handmade beads.

4. I don’t know where I would wear these.. or why.. but I love them! Lulu Guinness Poppy Boots. They would make me like 5’3!

5. I’ve wanted one of these for a long time. American Bisque Polka Dot pig cookie jar.

Today was not only the birthday of our nation, but it is the long awaited day where I take the time out from cooking, parenting, eBaying and blogging to cut the hair of men who live in my house.

The first one up in my chair of horrors beauty is The Man. I told #1 I wanted her to document this event for my blog. The Man nixed that idea, because “he didn’t want his picture taken”. Huh.. what a grouch. So there is no before photos to show you of his shaggy head. I should tell you I DID cut it too short.. but that’s what he get’s for refusing to come to my blog party.

He still looks cute.

Oh look.. grumpy CAN smile… oooh he’s going to be mad at me for this.

Next up.. #4. It used to be REALLY hard to cut this kids hair. He would scream, cry and in general act like a brat. He’s so much better now. I didn‘t think about taking a before photo of him. Not because he didn’t want his picture taken like his father, but his dad set me so off balance I just forgot to do it.

#4 looks good, and he was still the whole time.

I don’t know how to warn you about this next kid. He’s a real problem. First of all he could be a donor for “Hair Club for Men”. He has enough hair to cover Mr Cleans head 5 times over. He usually complains the ENTIRE TIME I cut his hair.

I’m sure no one would believe this.. but my houseful of children is not always quiet. Sometimes I feel the need to go somewhere in order to get something done. I headed out to Panera Bread in Olathe, Kansas…
