The One about Going to the Mall

Friday #3 and I ran some errands and did a little shopping.  Part of that shopping was at Oak Park Mall

I rarely go to the mall any more…. mostly because of time.  To me if you say "I'm going to the mall"  it's an all day experience.  I only wish I had all day to spend at the mall….

I had an agenda yesterday..

  • Mardel's to pick up church stuff
  • Macy's to return shoes and look for clothes for #4 and #5
  • Hobby Lobby to pick up some wood letters that the dumb dog chewed up
  • Children's Place – Jeans for the little boys
  • Old Navy- boots for #3 and jeans for the boys
  • Target- groceries and miscellaneous junk

We got some great deals at Macy's at Town Center Plaza in Leawood, KS.  (Town Center isn't an enclosed mall.. but an open shopping center.)  I thought if we got good deals there.. maybe it wouldn't hurt to go to the mall and check out Macy's there.

Once we got there, we were accosted by people who wanted us to buy stuff from them.  Not the normal "can I help you". .. or "would you like to try this perfume" at the perfume counter.  These were SERIOUS salesmen.  Hocking their curling irons, flat irons, massage therapy machines, teas, nuts and lotions.  By the time we were ready to leave the mall, I was spending MORE time trying to avoid the people selling stuff in the middle aisle of the mall than actually looking at stuff to buy.

It was pretty bad. I felt like I was the only person wanting to buy a car on a used car lot. Have you had this experience at the mall?  It will make me think twice before going there again.
