Celebrity Sighting… Alice Cooper

While in Chicago last week.. shopping at Nordstroms Rack on State street I saw Alice Cooper.  Here’s what happened:

I love Nordstrom’s rack.  The only thing I DON’T like about The Rack is the lines.. and there are ALWAYS lines.  The Rack on State street is no exception.  I was standing there grumping to #3 about how unhappy I am about the line.. and I see this dude out of the corner of my eye.  I noticed his white shoes first.. then the open neck shirt with the necklaces.. and the white visor… and I took a second look.

I say to #3; “I think that’s Alice Cooper.”

She’s like.. “who’s that?”

I say; “You know Alice Cooper.. he’s a singer like Ozzy Osborne but different?”

To which she says in her best Ozzy voice; “Sharrrroooon!”

I try to plead my case to the cashier.. she doesn’t know who he is either.  Millennials! They know the Twitter and the Facebook, but not rock gods like Alice Cooper.

Alice Cooper.. standing in line just like the rest of us.

Here’s some pictures I found on the internet of him…

I called The Man and told him who I spotted. (because Alice Cooper was one of the first rock concerts he ever attended.) He was impressed with my mad skills.  He of course said the famous line from Wayne’s World.

It Was A Very Muddy Hunger Games

A long time ago…  in the big town of Ottawa Kansas.. 5 teenagers, 1 semi adult and one quasi adult went to see the Hunger games.

Here they are ready for the movie… Are they lined up by height?

We arrive 1.5 hours before the movie started (at midnight)  We were pretty much the line.. with only 4 people in front of us.

The role of Katniss Everdeen will be played by…

Waiting.. for the movie to start

#1 feeding #2 popcorn.

PS:     They really aren't this creepy…

PSS     Yes they are…… but don't tell them I said so.

On the way home I got a little stuck on my road.  I had several boys push me out… and well this is what happened..

I'm not sure what that kid in the background is doing…

This poor child was right behind my wheel…

The President Comes to Kansas or Maybe to Dinner?

Something epic is arriving in Kansas…

The President arriving at KCI..

President Obama will be less than 15 miles from our little compound..  but we won't get to see him..  I not the biggest Obama fan, but I am a HUGE fan of the United States! How off is a sitting president 15 miles from your house?

airforce one, marine one, president obama, osawatamie kansas, president visits Kansas

He's flying in Marine One to Osawatomie Kansas (population: 4665)

This is the Osawatomie High School I thought I would try to get a couple of the 400 tickets they were giving out for his speech, but there were about 400 people in line around 20 minutes after it was announced President Obama would be speaking. I thought this would be quite a "homeschool" experience to give my children.

#4 and #5 don't quite understand how far away 15 miles is.. but they seem to think that President Obama *could* land in our back field.  They've been talking for days about what would happen if he landed in our back field.

#4 is pretty sure he would come in and check out our Christmas decorations.  He thinks that the President would want to eat dinner with us. I asked him what he thinks I should make the President for dinner, he said; "your home made pizza."

#5 is pretty sure that The Man would be mad, and wouldn't want the President in our house.  (The Man is a Republican).  #5 thinks I should make lasagna, because that's his (#5's)  favorite snack!

It would be pretty cool if the President came to our back field, and if anything it would make great blog fodder. 🙂
