What Was Lost is Found..

WAY back on Mother's Day in 2014.. Golden Boy (#2) bought me the needlepoint I've wanted for quite some time.  It's this Melissa Shirley Designs 3 Little Pigs Needlepoint. If you don't needlepoint, you may not know that it's not a cheap hobby.  A Melissa Shirley needlepoint canvas is hand painted, so it's like it's a tiny work of art. I buy 99% of my canvas's on eBay because the mother of 7 can't afford one retail.

Since the needlepoint store in Kansas City closed down.. I don't have any place to buy fibers.  #2 and I went to Atlanta February 17th-20th for his business trip.  We had a great time, and I got the opportunity to go to the needlepoint shop In Stitches that is located in Buckhead, GA.

I bought just a few fibers to start the needlepoint, rolled my canvas back up.. and flew back to Kansas City with it.  When I arrived back in Kansas City on Friday evening, it was the start of The Man's Christmas present.  He loves the PBR Pro Bull Riders (and I do too) so every year I buy him tickets to the rodeo and we make a weekend of it.  This cute little needlepoint road around with me (or so I thought it did) all weekend.  When I arrived home Sunday I thought this was in The Man's car…. on Monday night I asked him to bring it in, and IT WASN'T in his car.  We started making phone calls on Monday night into Tuesday.  We called every place we went…. no needlepoint canvas.  I was so afraid that I lost this, and I would never own one again.  I cried in the shower.. I cried when I went to bed.  I even DREAMED about this thing.  I dreamed that it was finally returned to me.. but it was FINISHED. (is that dumb or what?)

#2 called the hotel we stayed in on Monday evening, and they said they didn't have it. #1 called all the parking garages in the Power and Light District and IKEA to see if they found it.  I called the restaurants, movie theater, and shopping places we went… No canvas. I thought I would call the hotel again, just to see… and they had it! 🙂  I can't tell you how happy I was to see it again!

No Good Rotten Day Update

So I guess I spoke to soon yesterday.  I said there was *Nothing* wrong with these packages…

Yesterday an item not received case was opened on one of these packages. You might be thinking.. "how could that happen since you  just sent them out"?

postaldelivered3

When my mail carrier scanned these in she hit "delivered" instead of "accepted".. so now even though the item is in the postal system … it shows that it was delivered in Rantoul, KS .  The buyer not knowing what happened thought I somehow received her payment in the morning, and somehow delivered it the same day.. she opened a case which = a defect against me.  After checking all of the packages that were sent out Monday and Tuesday it appears that the there is something wrong with the scanner, or that 2 different postal carriers hit delivered instead of accepted.

I notified all 52 people that paid for their packages (that were sent out on Monday and Tuesday..) just incase they might see that their item was delivered on the same day that it was shipped.  *If* each one of those buyers opened a case, I would have a defect for each one and the money would be taken out of my account.  That's a little scary…

Here is what all 52 looked like.

The No Good, Terrible, Rotten Day? It All Started with Spelling & a Printer

Yesterday was a suppose to go smooth.  I know that we are never guaranteed a smooth day, but I try very hard to make it go as smooth as possible. There are so many things that could make it not run smoothly… and yesterday they were all working against me

wichita10Here's 7 of the reasons the day may not go as planned. I never thought before I had children how they each would have their own personality and all want to do their own thing.

I got up early (for me) and was going to print off the spelling sheets I needed for this week. My printer that always works… stopped working.  So I woke up my cute college student and asked him to fix it.  After an hour of him *not fixing* it because of some drum issue, I decided to send him to the library to print them off.

Meanwhile…

I had children upset for the extra work they needed to get done because they did not do it when it was assigned.

eBay trouble was a brewin':

A buyer and I have been messaging back and forth over a bra that she says isn't the right one.  I've asked her the style number of the bra she did receive, and it matches with the style number of the bra in the listing.  She finally tells me the fabric on this bra isn't Jacquard.  I offer her a full refund once the item is sent back in it's original unused, unwashed condition with the tags attached.  She responds:

"I do not have tags anymore, but I can send you an image of this bra- solid white and that is why I am not happy. I have 5 of the solid white ones, but the jacquard one is more feminine and more comfy- as odd as it sounds, it is truth. I only wear this model bra.And this one is not jacquard. So, I guess I am not sending it back either because of the tags and…the shipping cost.. At this point..it goes in the garbage, and it will be end of it. If you can think of any way to make it right, please go ahead, otherwise…I don't even know what else to ask. And as far as your answers are concerned, you did answer…and we went back and forth..but nothing solved the problem and for sure, didn't make me a happy camper. So..I guess I have no choice than to leave a negative feedback Thank you"

Fantastic… she's taken off the tags of a bra she *knows* is not the fabric she wanted.. PLUS she bought the bra knowing it wasn't the right one based upon looking at the pictures and the style number…. now I need to do something to make her a "happy camper" or she's going to leave me a negative feedback which results in a defect.

Meanwhile in the shipping department.. everything seemed to be going A-OK

Remember that little Library trip…

So #2 is at the library printing my spelling worksheet for the whiny excited students… and the very sweet librarian calls me to tell me she was talking to my charming son and mistakenly overcharged my PayPal Debit card.  I tell her it's no big deal, it happens to the best of us.  She then very sweetly, and quietly tells me she overcharged me 1,940.00 dollars.  She mistakenly did not put a decimal in.

ottawalibraryHoly Smokes….

I don't know about you.. but almost $2000 coming out of my business account could potentially mess up a lot of things.  Thankfully I called PayPal and they released the hold and we were back in business.

I hate to sound like Scarlett O'Hara.. but  "I can't think about that right now. If I do, I'll go crazy. I'll think about that tomorrow, after all, tomorrow is another day."
