What do Tires, Burger King and Homeschooling have in common?

I may have said this before.. I don't remember. The Man is the kind of guy that handles things, and I really appreciate that about him. I like that he believes there are "man" jobs and "woman" jobs. 14 years ago his classification of what a woman can do and what a man can do made me crazy. I was brought up by a single mother, and a extremely absent father. My mother made sure I knew how to do all kinds of "man" jobs, because, "You may not have a man around to take care of you!" That's one of the reasons I fell in love with him, because he took care of the junk I don't want to handle..

I don't know if you remember the tire mishap in the spring when The Man had to come change my tire: Walking Tour of Ottawa Since that time I have had the spare on my front driver side . Sunday my other tire started losing air. You can imagine my surprise when yesterday the man told me I needed to take my car to get new tires and the oil change. In my mind I was freaking out.. "Doesn't he know that HE is suppose to do this?" He set a presidense years ago when he handed all of that for me!

I like Monday morning to just be about school in my house. It seems like if we start school right on Monday's.. it will be smooth the rest of the week. I knew they wouldn't get anything done if I wasn't there.. so I loaded the kids up in the car and we headed to Wal-Mart in Gardner to get new tires and a oil change.

I called and found out that Burger King in Gardner has Wifi.. so the kids and I did a little school while we waited on the car to be done.

Here's #2 looking something up on his computer while his

math book is waiting for him to finish what he started.

Here's #2 working on her spelling worksheet.

The Man and I are going to talk about this whole car care thing.. hopefully he'll go back to being Ward Cleaver 🙂 (Leave it to Beaver) after our conversation.

Daddy’s Little Girl

You know my husband (affectionately referred to as “The Man”) is

really a good dad. He makes sure his kids have coats, (me not so much.. it’s a real

problem with me. I hardly ever wear a coat and I hate carrying my kids coats. Does

that sort of explain my issue?), and he makes sure we all have a roof over our

heads (I do care about this more than the coats) 🙂 Chris Rock has a whole thing

he does about how Dad’s get no respect… and Mom’s get all the love… what does Daddy

get? “The big piece of chicken”.

That being said.. I love this photo.

I think he’s praying here.. that she doesn’t give him that face. He’ll have to say

“yes” if she does.

When’s he going to smile?

That’s not really a smile.. but I’ll take it, because I have this photo

Did I tell you I love this picture?

A View from My Cell Phone.

I was sitting in my car, waiting on my kids.. and I started looking at my cell phone pictures. Holy Smokes, there are A LOT on there. Apparently I take photos of things.. and I don't even realize or remember it!

There is this one.. I think I wanted to make this a degu cage..

but in reality knew it wouldn't work. #3 is looking cute!

I believe this kid stole my phone and took this photo. There are more

"stolen phone" photos on my phone than ones that I have actually taken.

I call this photo "wishful thinking". Why? Well.. I took the photo of

the Smith and Hawken Target display, hoping my family would buy

me something from this collection for Mother's Day. They didn't 🙁

I'm going to call this picture "Bad Kitty". The Man and I

were walking around The Plaza a year or so ago. There was a HUGE line

outside of the MAC makeup store. We looked in and there was this guy..

Interesting photo huh? What do you think the employment

ad said for this job? "Man with great abs needed to wear Hello Kitty Head"

Or "If you've got the body, we've got your head!" or maybe "Male model

needed to stand in make up store and look cute"? You know The Man has

that body.. and I can't imagine how anyone would get him in those pants 😉
