Going to see Santa

Every year since #1 was ten or so we have gone to Crown Center to see Santa. If you are not from Kansas City, or you've never been there.. you should go at least once. It truly is a magical place at Christmas.

Here's #4 and #5 waiting to go into the Crayola Land

play place to see Santa.

He looks a little nervous.. I wonder if he's been good this year?

These two have been really bad. Just look at them!

This place is awesome.. it has all kinds of things for the

kids to do while the parents wait in line for the kids to

see Santa. Here's #4 getting ready to slide.

I thought #3 wouldn't play on the stuff this year since

she was in a "serious" dress. But that didn't stop her and

her American Girl Doll.

Holy Smokes.. after a few minutes of playing, we had our first

spotting of Santa! They boys immediately want to get in line.

Here we have #2, (holding everyone's shoes) #5, and #4. They are

eye-balling Santa.. I love #5's hands. They were REALLY checking him out.

I don't think they said a single word while we stood in line and waited.

When we finally got to the front of the line, there wasn't any

hesitation this year. They just hopped right up on his lap!

I'm not sure what this kid is telling him, but I can guess it has

something to do with Transformers, Spiderman, and Nintendo.

#2 told me Santa was surprised to see someone "so old" on his lap. It's pretty bad to be an old has-been at thirteen! #2 said he asked for a ear piece for his phone.. and Legos. (what a combo)

#3 asked for American Girl doll stuff.

#4 asked for 2 new Nintendo remotes, a car that drives on the walls, and a hover car.

I asked #5 again what he asked for from Santa.. and he gave me this look..

"I'm not telling you"

Sometimes Kitchen Duty can be FUN!

My friend Patrick.. (see below)

The chick there with the RED ARROW above her head is #1

Patrick or “P*Trick” as I like to call him… thought it would be a great idea to have dinner at Buca di Beppo. (and it was)… Here’s a look into our adventures there..

Buca di Beppo is located on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City.

At Christmas time the Plaza is beautiful!

It’s all lit up like… well a Christmas tree. Speaking of Christmas Trees,

see that red arrow on the left hand side.. those were some carolers.

If you look close you can see #1 and P*Trick in the lower right corner.

Before they sat us down at our table.. I saw this sign.. cute huh?

P*Trick had reservations for the Kitchen Table… that was well,

in the kitchen! All of these photos were taken from our “kitchen table”.

If you’ve never been to Buca di Beppo you should know they serve

everything family style. This chef is preparing a to-go order.

All night I tried to get a photo of this LARGE Lasagna. You can ge

just a glimpse of it here. It has to be 7″ high and 10″ long. It’s HUGE!

These are 2 smalls. They are about 6″ long!

While I was there I fell in love with their platters and bowls.

I want these!

Or these..

They brought us french bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

I’ve never had olive oil with vinegar. It was pretty good!

I’m not sure why I took this photo.. but I just loved the stacked

tomatoes and apples.

The Man had Penne Arrabbiata: Spicy Italian sausage and crushed

red pepper in a zesty marinara sauce with imported Italian penne pasta.

#1 had spaghetti and meat sauce. If you look at the top of the photo

you can see the chicken cannelloni that P*Trick had. Buca describes it

as “stuffed with chicken ricotta and mozzarella cheeses and baked on

a bed of rosa sauce.

I ordered this.. Chicken Parmigiana.. it was delicious!

Do you see these meatballs? They HUGE! Like as big as a babies

head huge! I read they are a 1/2 pound each.

This guy here is Roger.. he is the chef at Buca di Beppo.

If you go I recommend you sit in the kitchen! It was

lot’s of fun and so interesting to see how fast they move.

What Longing.. looks like..

Here's a photo of what I like to call Longing…

Here's #1 looking at a Nikon D50… you see here at the eBay Queen's humble abode we long for big fancy camera's. Not because we know how to use them.. or that they would guarantee us super cool photos.. but because well, we BELIEVE if we just had the equipment.. we'd have it going on… and the learning along with the fabulous photos would just happen. We are losers like that.

The Ghost of Christmas Past.. or at Least 2008

Every year we go to Crown Center to celebrate #2's birthday and to see that fat dude in a red suit. I also take this opportunity to take a good Christmas Card photo of the kids. We are heading down there very soon to do this years photo. I was looking through my photos from last year and found some interesting things.

I have no idea why #4 has his tongue out.. but The Man thought it was pretty funny.

Even #1 thought it was funny.

Here's #3, #5, #4 and #2 with the big man.. Aren't they cute?

#1 won't sit on Santa's lap. She prefers to sip her coffee.

I wonder if she knows coffee will stunt her growth?

This was NOT the Christmas card picture.. any idea why?

Neither was this one.

After looking at these photos.. I don't think I sent out Christmas cards

in 2008. Maybe 2009 Christmas photos will be better… 🙂
